| This site is dedicated to the eight decades of Men of Gridiron lest we “forget the bond that binds us heart to heart.” |
This website’s goal is two-fold:
The first is to chronicle the rich history of the original men’s service club on campus and how integral it has been to the life of Phillips - from supporting the football team, building the tennis courts, crowning the homecoming queen, all-school social events, the Gridiron monument. Even today, GUS continues to serve Phillips in important roles in the alumni association, the heritage foundation and the Phillips Theological Seminary.
Our second goal is to help members stay in touch or get re-in-touch with each other. For us this endeavor has been wonderful; we've renewed old friendships and made new bonds with members who came before and after us.
Please browse the pages and click on the links. Let us know if any information needs to be corrected or updated. As you will see, the rosters of presidents, sweethearts, pledge classes, sponsors and veterans are incomplete. Any help you can give with these rosters will be greatly appreciated.
